Electric power demand forecasting

Japan Weather Association provide a highly accurate Electric Power Demand Forecasting Service combining the knowledge of weather forecast specialists with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technology.

The electric power demand forecasting is a service that forecasts the amount of customer’s electric power demand for each power area. The electric power demand is greatly affected by a variety of weather elements, including temperature, humidity, solar radiation, rainfall, and snowfall. By analyzing the characteristics of past electric power demand based on variable factors such as social activities and weather conditions※1 and combining the skills of weather forecast specialists with artificial intelligence, we have achieved highly accurate electric power demand forecasts.

We provide services from system construction to data provision to suit customer needs and contribute to market trading, and supply and demand management of electricity.


※1 Usually we offer demand variability analysis service in advance due to figure out the characteristics of customer’s electric power demand.

We offer two types of services: an on-premise service for major power companies, and a cloud service mainly for new power companies.

On-premise service

This is a service that delivers, installs, and operates servers for electric power demand forecasting within the customer’s facilities. System configuration and specifications will be customized to a customer’s need.

Cloud service

This is a service that receives actual electric power demand from customer and automatically distributes the forecast created on our cloud server. The service can be implemented in a short period of time and with little initial cost.
