Blossoms to Expect on March 22nd in Tokyo.

On Thursday, February 24th, 2022, Japan Weather Association (JWA) announced the forecast of the dates when cherry blossoms will bloom at 49 locations throughout Japan.

Blossom Trends
The earliest blooms will likely be in Kumamoto on March 21st. The blossoms are expected on 22nd in Tokyo and Fukuoka, and on 23rd in Nagasaki and Nagoya, and on 24th in Oita, Wakayama, and Yokohama.
By the end of March, blossoms will likely occur in a wide area from western to eastern and Hokuriku area in Japan. In Niigata, Nagano and Tohoku area, cherry blossoms will likely bloom from early to mid-April.
In late April, the cherry blossom front will arrive Hokkaido and blossoms will occur in Hakodate and Sapporo on April 25th.
