Promoting Contributions for Society
Services
Promote companies and products through problem-solving activities aimed at addressing social issues.
Japan Weather Association (JWA) engages in many initiatives aimed at solving social issues related to weather, such as heatstroke prevention and disaster preparedness. Through projects such as “Heatstroke Zero” and “tenki.jp Awareness of Disaster Prevention”, JWA aims to find new solutions to raise awareness and increase safety regarding weather-related dangers. These two projects also allow other companies to carry out branding and product promotion while making a social contribution.

The Heatstroke Zero Project

The Heatstroke Zero project was created in 2013, with the goal of reducing cases of heat illnesses and aim for zero casualties. The most important activity for Heatstroke Zero is to raise awareness of the illnesses and available counter measurements. Instead of checking ourselves occasionally, let us make sure everyone is being careful instead, make it a collective responsibility.
From the beginning of the project, JWA has worked to spread correct knowledge and information on effective counter measurements of heat illnesses through dissemination of meteorological data, as weather has a significant impact on the occurrence of said illness.
The Heatstroke Zero project works with governments, local authorities, companies, organisations, and experts to prevent and raise awareness of heat illnesses.
Businesses who sponsor the project as official partners to support heat illness prevention through their products and services can use the project logo in their branding and promotions.

3-step countermeasures for heatstroke
Heat Illnesses often occur in circumstances of high temperature and humidity, when our bodies cannot adapt to the heat, causing a variety of general symptoms.
Whenever, wherever, whoever, have the risk of falling victim to heat illnesses. By knowing the correct prevention methods and by being careful as a general rule, we can easier protect ourselves against it.
Awareness concept: “Know, be aware, and take action”
The Heatstroke Zero project goes beyond simply providing correct knowledge and publishing alerts. Through understanding the underlying risks, the encouragement to be proactive, those are just the first steps in the right direction.
The next step is to go into action, follow the counter measurement advice and take care of yourself and those around you.
