With its extensive knowledge, Japan Weather Association supports international efforts in formulating and implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation measures.

To comprehend challenges associated with climate change, knowledge in a wide range of fields is required; these include meteorology, environmental science, disaster mitigation and prevention, and oceanography to name just a few. Our association provides optimal technical solutions for facing the challenges of climate change, enabling them to implement optimal mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Terminology

Climate change mitigation measures: Actions taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions or enhance the sinks of greenhouse gases.
Climate change adaptation measures: Actions taken to adjust systems (i.e. ecological, social, or economic systems) to actual and/or expected climate and its effects.
